User talk:Fritz freiheit
Just to kick this off...
- If you insist. Hello! Sorry to be the one to tag your East Lansing article as a speedy delete, but articles that are little more than web links always are. Also, there's been quite a bit of discussion regarding the inclusion of high schools. If ELHS is notable in some way, by all means feel free to write about it. In fact, if you can flesh the existing article out before it's deleted, please remove the tag. Good luck and welcome to the Wacky Wiki! - Lucky 6.9 00:52, 25 Sep 2004 (UTC)
I don't know if it is worth keeping or not, I just noticed that Larry Page graduated from it.
Welcome
[edit]Fritz, welcome to Wiki. Sorry if I seem to dominate the SLAN page. (Maybe I'm too possesive? )Please do feel free to edit and be bold. I can't help insist on what I know about the story. Anyway , I 'm glad to meet another sci-fi fan. I 've read Dune, Ray Bradbury, R. Heinlein. They were great.
- Hey, no problem. I was reading the Slan page and thought I would look up what other people had said about the origins of the Slan (I read it so long ago that I don't remember much of it, other than that I liked it). - Fritz.

- Thanks for all the pointers! By the way, I have a question about generating the current date. Is there some template for doing this (like the 3 or for tildes for signatures? - Fritz Freiheit 14:42, 2004 Oct 11 (UTC)
I haven't checked/tested yet but you can do things like{{date}}(two curlies on both sides.)You can test them out at the sandbox ( Main Page -> sandbox). Also, I ussually do things like typing template or currentdate at the search . It leads to the right wikipedia instruction page.

WikiProject Java and Portal
[edit]I recently posted the following text on Wikipedia regarding the creation of a new computing-related project in Wikipedia:
'WikiProject Java is a Wikipedian community that aims to better organize information in articles related to the Java programming language and its platform.
- If I'm cor-rec-to, there are about 900 articles on Java technology in Wikipedia, which may be more than ALL other programming languages articles combined...
- At least, it's more than for C++, and there IS a C++ WikiProject...
- And it's MUCH more than the .NET WikiProject with 82 articles...
- There is also a Python project and a Ruby project so...
- Now you can also see a proposal for the Java Portal (temp location).'
